Ive been getting tired of my bruised shoulder after a good 100 round shooting session with my 500SPX and while looking for a fix i saw a Limbsaver on a 870 tactical and wondered how it got there, Now i know.

Does someone know something i don't? I mean are there other products out there that will do the same job on a tactical stock?
I purposely shoot 3" shells when possible as i like the recoil, Plus that what i keep loaded for HD. But man does my arm and shoulder bruise quite alot.

This may finally convince me to put an adjustable stock on my saiga.

I know ill be ordering one myself, AS it looks like a stock pad but definitely better.
I just got this Email back from them.

Thank you for your e-mail.

The AR Snap-On pad has been quite a big hit. It probably will not go onto our on-line store until March early April. You may call and order direct (1-877-257-2761) if you wish until the #10019 gets more circulated.

Whats funny is i read a post on AR15.com if im not mistaken saying that Limbsaver had stated before they would never make an AR pad since the .223 doesn't have enough kick. I guess they figured out those stocks are used on many guns especially Shotguns which are a big market for them already.

GAgunCrew- If you bought it recently where did you find it? Id like to order one in a week when i get paid.
My 500SPX beats the heck out of me despite gutting the stock pad and adding a gel insert, Its in no way as good as the Limbsavers ive seen.

Well i bought mine, Under $40 shipped and my shoulder cant wait because i bought about 150 rounds for my 500SPX for my next range trip.

I must be a wimp as i thought more people would think this was the best thing on the market they didn't own yet.

I debated putting a Knox Stock on my 870 Tactical.
Instead, I bought the Remington recoil pad. That helped, but.......I still wanted softer (my shoulder just doesn't like 3" Magnums anymore).

Sooooooo (don't laugh), I bought a Limbsaver slip on....and put it OVER the Remington pad!

The result is terrific! I can shoot 100 hot loads per session and there is NO pain or soreness. And as a bonus, I can keep my shots on target
with fast follow-ups.

Try it....you'll like it! :)

I think I'll get one for my saiga, even though it is a pretty soft shooting gun as it is. For $30 why not and if it really has any effect on muzzle rise so much the better.

You do have to smile though at the add saying "stop pain now" with a picture of a 5.56 AR.

Im not so sure on how it can help muzzle rise, What Saiga you using?
My 500SPX has a tactical stock from Mossberg which had rubber butt pad with it used a honeycomb style rubber inserts that did nothing.
I gutted that and filled it with a Gel insert i made from an old motorcycle gel seat pad, But even still it would bruise my shoulder shooting 3" shells.

The Limbsaver i felt on an 870 tactical was amazing, For the life of me i can remember if it was a M4 style like ive linked in the thread or one that was a grind to fit. It looked so good i swore it was from the factory as it was on a new gun and the salesman said it cam that way from Remington.

Ill be sure to post up pics once mine comes in since i ordered it last night with usps priority mail so i should have it before next weekend if the place gets it shipped fast.

Girodin- WOW, what a project that turned out to be, Very nice gun.
I will post pics of mine when it comes later this week so you can see if its something you may want also.

I know its tacky, But just how much you have invested in that gun just in parts. I know the time adds value that cant usually be calculated.

I know its tacky, But just how much you have invested in that gun just in parts.

Too much, I almost hate to add it all up. The really sad part is there are still a couple things I want to add.

Including the the drum and the 10 magazines roughly $1250. I paid $450 for the gun. So sans the light and red dot it is about the price of a Benelli M4. One could spend less and get something fairly similar. Mags also add a lot to the price of saigas. This S12 is probably my favorite gun that I own (aside from the sentimental ones).

I will post pics of mine when it comes later this week so you can see if its something you may want also.

Please do and if you get a chance to shoot it I would really be interested in hearing how it performs.

Dont worry i have $1000+ invested in a M&P 15-22 thats a .22lr that sells for $429 stock.
Its my pride and joy and i can spend hours at the range, Even the short indoor range shooting it different ways and distances. And in the end it only use is squirrel and soda can massacres. Keeping a scope and a red dot and a laser all on one rifle makes it so versatile you cant put it down no matter what your shooting at.
Im really wanting to hit the range today, But since its cold in Ohio its gotta be an indoor range and that gets expensive so im gonna try my best and wait until this butt pad comes in as i have over 150 rounds of 12 gauge saved for that day.
My 500 SPX is brutal on my shoulder especially with the 2 3/4 00buck and slugs and anything in 3"
My first trip i had to stop shooting it at 100 rounds due to excessive pain, Followed by some nasty bruising that time.

Well it came in today within 2 days of ordering since i opted for USPS Priority shipping. The best way to describe it is its a Limbsaver, But its made specifically for tactical stocks. If you ever felt one or shot a gun with one im sure this will act the same way.
I haven't shot it yet, But i will be at the range soon.
It has a nice tight fit and i used a small flat blade screw driver as a shoehorn to help it on as its a good tight fit and wont be falling off.
I also placed my old stock pad next to it so you could see any differences.
Im betting this will be the best $38 shipped item ive bought in a while and my shoulder comes home unbruised.

Seems your gun doesn't fit. As for "liking" recoil, you'll have a different tune when you're older and the ortho surgeon is on your speed dial. There are no bonus macho points for "liking" recoil.
