Yup... I managed to break my saiga-12 that is only a few weeks old. I was walking in the dark and the pin that holds the mag release in somehow drifted out, and the spring and mag release went flying somewhere unknown into the dark. No hope of finding it, I sent RRA an email so I'm hoping they'll just replace it.

Somewhat dissapointed :fire:

You sent Rock River Arms a message about your Saiga? Why?

I think he means RAA.

Russian American Armory, The importer of the Saiga. Yes that should say RAA.

So it didn't really break, it fell apart...hmm, that doesn't sound any better, does it?

I wouldn't dwell on it too much, mine has been bout flawless for a couple of years. I think that is just a fluke (smaller than spec. pin?). Good luck with RAAC CS (sarcasm not intended).

Yup, and I think it would have been easy to fix in about two minutes if it didn't happen in the dark with lots of brush and no hope of finding the parts... Murphy's law :banghead:

I had to rebuild the fuel pump for a land cruiser in the Australian bush. At one point the return spring went ping out into the desert I never found it so in desperation I stole one from 3 ball point pens, worked!
So why not just make new parts from scrap iron and buy a spring at the harware store?

I will do that if necessary,

but I'd rather they just send me a new one that's already made to spec. Easy enough right?

Mine tried to do that to me once. I noticed it as it was halfway liberated. Now there's a dab of JB Weld on each side. That thing isn't going anywhere now.

It should be simple enough to fabricate, if you can't get one and don't have the tools to make one yourself, I can probably make you one...just let me know.

I have access to a good shop, but thanks for the offer!

I like the idea of an extended release, but since I'm a lefty, I'd have to make my own anyway.
