I know there are contenders out there, but is there another single shot .22 out on the market that is fairly lightweight?

built on the small frame that were single-shots. They look like a 'flat' revolver.

Ah, perhaps I should be a little more specific. Not looking for black widows or pen guns, more like just light weight single shot range guns. I suspect the only thing close to that these days is a contender.

A gun you might like would be the Sheridan Knockabout pistol, which was made from 1953-1960 by Sheridan, normally a maker of air rifles. The Knockabout was, AFAIK, their only venture into cartridge arms.
They are nice little guns, using a tip up barrel. Trigger pull is so-so and sights rudimentary, but they make a neat plinker.
They are something of a collector's item, but prices still are in the $100+ area and they are sometimes seen at gun shows. I don't know the total production figure, but it wasn't high.

I got a break open .22lr CZ target pistol pretty weird striker action (manual cocked) that is very accurate with 6 inch barrel , stock angle similar to Luger (walnut checkered) that wheighs about 26 OZ . and is on consignment at local FFL for $175. You could have it for $150 + shipping. I could take a picture next week and will do so anyway as it is weird(but very well made!).

That sounds interesting. I'd at least like to see a picture of it. Thanks!

In the early days, I think Contenders were made with barrels as small as 6-8", in slim octagon profiles. The gun's still no airweight but that would still be a lot lighter than your typical 10" bull baarreled Contender. Check on Ebay, or with Contender collectors

You can get a Beretta 21 Bobcat. Less than 12 oz.
Tip up barrel lets you load and shoot single shot. Single and Double Action.

I have a .22 mag single shot with "Remington" rolling block action bought about 4-5 months ago. This is gun is made by Uberti and sold by IAR. .22 lr versions were available. It was out of production at the time I bought it. There may be some available second-hand ones, or a local dealer with some still in stock. I forget the weight of this gun, but believe it to be about 40 oz.
