Get your serial number off the receiver. Call Remington at 800-243-9700. They can tell you the year of the receiver. The other parts may or may not be original with the gun. Remington can generally tell you what kinds of parts were original with the receiver you have. They helped me with my 870P.

Search this forum and anything written by the moderator Dave McCracken! You will find everything you ever needed to know about the 870. Fantastic gun!

Good for you! A nice, traditional, serviceable arm. Welcome to the fraternity (sororiety?). Both then!!!

Hello friends and neighbors// The older ones are 2 3/4" shells only(like mine) newer will say 3" magnum (like my 2009 Express).

Welcome to THR, I have learned a lot here. Mostly that everyone has their likes and dislikes:rolleyes:...JK:D enjoy.

Now you have to figure out who to leave the 870 to one day far far down the road. I've had my wingmaster since 1978.
