I have a friend that said he put a gouge or divet in his M&P.

It wasnt secure in the vice when he using a punch and rubber mallet and now he's got a gouge/divet on the beavertail. ( I havent seen it 1st hand. He/its 300 miles away)

He says its more or less 1/16" deep.

Is there a putty or epoxy or something that can be used to fill and smooth it?

He would like to try to fill and smooth before trying to sand it out.

Any info is appreciated.

Try plastic specific epoxy like Plastic Fusion from Super Glue. Pretty darn adherent and relatively thick. Don't know about black though, the stuff I have is cream colored.
