I've been looking for a pair of concealable grips for a 642 that extend all the way to the top of the "hump", preferably in something hard. I have very large hands and the corners of the hump bite into the web of my hand pretty fiercely after 50 rounds or so.

Are there any that do this or am I searching for the elusive jackalope?

Look here and go to the Craig Spegel J Frame grips. The Centennial ones are about halfway down the page.

Great folks to do business with and absolutely first class grips.

Not cheap but I have several pairs because of the same problem you are having. Call them to see what is in stock and what is coming. They tend to get them in small batches.

Hogue also make a longer than boot length grip that covers the backstrap. It doesn't go quite to the top but the shape keeps the web of your hand away from the "corners. It is available in both rubber and hard nylon. Even though it is longer than the backstrap it is fairly thin and and rounded on the bottom. It conceals pretty well.

I agree Craig Spegel J Frame grips are probably the best grips around.

My hands are also on the large side. I picked up these grips and have been very pleased. The quality seems great, the fit is perfect, they feel comfortable, and I like the looks. Took about 3 weeks from order time to my door.

Hello friends and neighbors // I believe the Hogue grips described in post #3 are on the 442.
The grips are very comfortable for shooting but are visible in most of my pants pockets. As stated slim enough for IWB or OWB and with the right pants/coat pocket.
I started shooting better immediately after installing these grips.

P.S. This is not my EDC, just three of my revolvers.:D

I've got Spegel boot grips on my 642. They are the ones specific to the Centennial style frames and go to the top.

For me, best grips ever on my 642-1.

See, that's what I love about this board. I like my Hogues for shooting, but really felt the need for something better for concealment on my 642. didn't even know about the Spegels. I do now! thanks guys.
