Do any of you have experience with Benelli R1?
What does it's recoil compare to (.308 bolt action, .30-30 lever action, 12 gauge pump, etc)?
I'm looking to get a general purpose hunting rifle (hogs, deer, elk, moose). I already own a lever action .30-30 for hunting and am looking to add one other all purpose rifle for hunting. It will not be a target gun as I've got a good bolt action for that and plenty of other choices for home defense and social plinking. I'd like a semi-auto for the ability for fast follow up shots.
I've decided it will be a .30-06 though there are plenty of other cartridges out there and I really don't want to start a discussion about caliber selection.
