Does any body know any thing about the stoger couger? It seems like a well made pistol and a fair price! if any one has any thing good to say, or bad to say i would greatly appreciate it. Iwas thinking of getting a sig 2022 but i just Cant deal with the polymer "plastic" frame.

Do a search for Stoegar Cougar or Beretta Cougar, you'll find several threads.
They are virtually the same gun. Beretta discontinued their Cougar and shipped the manufacturing equipment to Turkey for their subsidiary Stoegar to manufacture.

dogtown is correct. I actually researched this gun about a year ago because i was gonna buy it, i ended up saving my money (because i needed to, not wanted to) Anyway, from what i found is that there is no difference between the beretta and the stoeger version. They are literally the exact same machines that manufacture these guns, the only difference is that these machines were transported to Turkey. These are a great choice for what you spend.

The Stoeger Cougar is a nice handgun, especially for the price. I picked one up a few months ago and am very pleased with it. It is very reliable and pretty accurate. I hesitated for a long time about getting the Cougar but I am very glad I finally did. You can get accessories for it at CDNN, I picked up two additional mags and some nice wood Beretta Cougar grips for mine.

I had several opportunity to test Cougar 8000F which is a range gun. So, already this gun has more then 15.000 fired rounds without any single failure as per the range guy's statements. I fired this gun some 300 rounds without any single failure.
I loved the safety laver which is working as a de-cocker and saftey lever. When you manipulate the slide, you may put down the hammer safely with safety lever and meanwhile you engage the safety. I like very much this feature.
The trigger is far better then my Glock 19 but if you compare the CZ 75B trigger, cz 75 is better.
Take down lever is one of the easiest I ever used. (IMO easier then Glock). Much more easier then CZ 75B or Browning MK III..
Cheers..

I've posted this picture many times when the topic of the Cougar comes up. I like mine a lot. I got it as an inexpensive around the house gun. No failures so far and the fit and finish are very good in my opinion. I added the Beretta grips.

I have nothing bad to say about my Stoeger Cougar 8040F. I like the aluminum frame, DA/SA, and decocker.

Prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit on these. I saw one a while back in the $350 range now they seem to command a higher output of fundage. I'd like to have one in .45.

I used to own a Stoeger Cougar in .40 S&W. It was a great shooter, and only had a couple failures within the first few hundred rounds. Only reason I got rid of it is because I didn't want anything in .40 S&W anymore. I may pick up a 9mm version later

I love my mini cougar in .45 cal. I know it is a Beretta but they are the same. It is a great carry gun.
