Here is a quote from the latest issue of the American Rifleman.
It is from the President's Column, by Kayne Robinson, and bears the title
"Understanding the Enemy."
"Many pro-gun organizations and writers adopt the position that 'the other side' is merely mistaken, fails to understand, needs more information, and is stupid or misguided. This is a very dangerous miscalculaton!"

It all depends on which part of "the other side" we're talking about. I've seen enough accounts of people who were anti who were simply ignorant who ended up coming to our side of the fence when forced to confront the logical inconsistencies and fallacies in the anti position.
On the other hand, the Bradies and Sugarmanns of the world know full well that their agitprop is a fabric of lies and deceit. They are a different animal altogether.

Robinson is right.
There are an awful lot fewer anti-Second Amendment bigots than civil rights supporters, but they're well connected, well funded, highly manipulative, and highly skilled at redefining terms in their favor.
Indeed, the very moment we engage in so-called "debate," we've lost, since there's nothing to debate at all: the Second Amendment means precisely what it says.

Yes and they also have a very willing, Columbia schooled press corps, that will trumpet their views from large piles of suitible birdcage lining. Truth over lies will overcome and I think most of us are willing to fight the right fight.
