I was in the local gun shop and asked to see a CZ 452. They didn't have CZ 452 in stock, but they DID have what was labeled on the store tag as the CZ 452 E. It had a European-style stock, and I think it was beechwood.

What's the difference between the CZ 452 and the CZ 452 E? Is the CZ 452 E perhaps the CZ 452 Ultra Lux or the CZ 452 military training rifle? A quick google search didn't turn up much.

www.czusa.com That will tell you everything you need to know. And those european style stocks look kinda funky at first, but they grow on you in a hurry. I have a 452 2E "trainer". It is a great rifle and one I will not let go of. CZ also has the new interchangeable barrel 455 coming out soon. The 455 is said to replace most if not all of the 452s.

There is no distinguishing them, model to model, by lettering after the 452. There are different models but they are named, not numbered or lettered to designate one from another. I have seen CZ refer to these rifles as CZ 452-2E ZKM. That said there are a bunch of 452 models with many differences between them. There is also a new 455 model coming out shortly and it looks as if they are bringing back an updated 511 now named the 512. I pray that the 512 is as good as the old 511. If it is close it will be my next buy.

thank you for the informative replies! juk, of course i have perused the czusa website. otherwise i wouldn't have brought this up for your consideration! :) glad to hear the european stocks are at least tolerable. the european stock i handled actually seemed like it was a good fit--the drop at the heel really helped sighting.

benzy, interesting re the E/2E designation. i guess i'll have to ask the shop what the specific model is. is the model printed on the rifle?
