Most gunbelts look like they have snaps on them that I can unsnap and put on my Montana Silversmith buckle, I have worn this buckle everyday for the last 8 years, and would prefer to keep it that way :)

Problem is most websites don't mention if the buckles are interchangeable, so I need you guys with belts in hand to tell me what to buy that will accept my buckle. Price would be helpful too, I currently use generic western store belts to carry, and am getting tired of buying 2-3 $30-$50 belts a year only to have them wear out. . .

BTW I usually go with 1 1/2" belts. . . 38" waist if that makes a difference

I have a Don Hume B112 belt, you can interchange the buckle. It's 1 3/4" though.

I have a belt I orderd from UBG holsters that you can change the buckles with a regular flat tip screwdriver. Nice belt too. He makes them in various widths.

Most of the better belt makers use "Chicago Screws" to attach their buckles.

Try

"The Beltman"
http://www.thebeltman.net/

or

AG Custom Leather
http://www.agcustomgunleather.com/

You can also check with a the holster maker of your choice as most make their own belts.

most of the snaps that you will find on belts are not strong enough to take every day carry. The good news is if you find one that you like but it has snaps, find a saddle shop or a belt guy at a flea market and get them to put chicago screws in place of the snaps. IMO stay away form 5.11 belts, they wont stand behind there products :fire: . Find a custom holster / belt maker you may pay a little more but the little guys want to keep there customers.

two layer belt for 54.99 that is not bad for a belt that should last for years.

My own Beltman belt has a screw attachment for the buckle loop. I see no reason why you could not attach your own buckle.
