Beretta 8000F Cougar Inox Value?

I'm getting ready to thin the herd, and I've got a couple of new-in-box Beretta 8000F Cougars in stainless (inox) that I'm probably going to part with. My standard, bruniton-finished 8000F will probably be going too. Anybody have information on what these are going for these days? I've also got a collection of 15-round and 10-round magazines that go with them. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello friends and neighbors// 2010 Standard Catalog of Firearms

Beretta 8000F-Cougar L
NIB$600/EXC500/VG400

Book prices are lower than store/FTF prices around here.
Have fun searching, looks like a great firearm.

And, that's for a Bruniton-finished model. In Inox, I would imagine the book value is considerably higher.

I've seen used Inox Cougars in VG being sold for $800 or more. Not sure how long it took to sell them, but I've never seen one in Excellent or NIB go for less than $800 or I'd own one. And I've looked many times over the past year or two.

Hello friends and neighbors // Thanks for the info.

I was wondering if there is a difference, I've never heard of INOX and thought it was a typo. ;)
My book does not list INOX just L and mini in the Cougar.

INOX is Italian speak for Stainless Steel...

So the Inox rarely goes for less than $800 ?
I got one in mint cond. and I think I got a great deal at $500. It's a 9mm

What do you all think?

Yes, that is a steal. Someone sold 2 on the Beretta Forum recently, and I think they went for something like $800 a piece.

Shipwreck, those two were mine... they sold for $850 each including shipping (which I think was a fair price). I also sold my 8000F with standard Bruniton finish at the local Gun Show a week ago for $525 including a couple of extra magazines.

And NCIndependence, $500 for a well-cared-for Inox 9mm Cougar is a terrific bargain. Enjoy!

As for me, "the thinning of the herd" is now officially completed.

I was tempted to get 1 of those - but I generally charge new guns and pay them off in 3-4 months. So, i never have all the cash to buy from a person. Otherwise, I may have snagged 1 of those.

Just buy one of these, same EXACT gun. $409 NIB in my area. Black is $369.

+1. From what I understand they actually bought all of the intellectual property and tooling for this design from Beretta. The gun are functionally the same as the Berettas were.

This guy pretty much sums up the Stoeger Cougar Story;

I may buy one in 45 later. But the Inox Cougar is not the same as their Silver colored Stoeger. The "inox" finish on the Stoeger is a coating. It's not real Inox unfortunately - if it were, I think they'd sell even more.

Thanks for clarifying that. Makes sense now why the "inox" is a lot more money. All my guns are the basic black. I did pick up a Stoeger 8045 recently, it shoots as good, if not better than my 8000. There $419 NIB in my area. I was able to pick up a used one locally for $269.

Well, I love the Beretta 92 platform. And, I could get a D spring and a skeletonized spring to work in the Cougar. Plus, I know how to take all the parts in the 92's frame apart - and it will be the same for the COugar. After I get a couple more 92 variants, I may pick up a 45 cougar next year
