Is there ANYONE who does custom from scratch grips?
I just got an Astra Terminator, and it came with the pach goodyears on it.
I would LOVE to have a set of S&W style combats for it.
Anyone know someone who may do custom grips?

FoMoGo,

I would pass on the wood grips unless you really enjoy pain. Those PACMAYRS are what makes the TERMINATOR useful for anything heavier than .44 Special loads.

Those S&W grips look nice, but do nothing for recoil and control.

I speak from experience.

Trust my, I know the "joys" of firing a .44 magnum with wood grips.
Range time would be with the rubber grips, carry would be with the wood... to keep the grips from riding my shirt up.
The desire for wood grips is over half for concealability.

Here is the grip frame. The pach grips on it now are N frame round butt, the pin at the bottom is different... but I dunno how a set of wood smith grips will fit.

Nice gun, there are two problems:
- you likely will not find a grip maker who has another terminator handy to test for fit.
- when using S&W grips the grip screw may interfere with the coil spring.
Your best bet would be to find someone local to make some using your gun as a template. I had to make my own for my Llama .22 which uses a really similar design.
Another option maybe to find some factory wood grips and send those to a grip maker to use as a template, or just use those with a Tgrip for an N frame.

Do your original grips look like this?

They say Pachmayer on them or do they look like Pach's?

Those aren't Pachs. They're original issue from Astra. Try contacting Lew Horton and see if you can find an original set. This is a .41 Magnum and they're very comfortable. I have large hands.

I see, thought I saw the Pachmayer logo on those.
Will see what I can find out thru Lew Horton.
Appreciate it.

I need to clarify. Pachmayer made a custom run for Astra with the Limited Editions. Lew Horton told me that those grips are not a standard part of their line, that's why you probably won't find them on the Pachmayr website.

Those grips looks a LOT like the factory grips on the N frame night guards...
