A few years ago I thought I was going to shoot Skeet, and loaded up on WC820 for .410; ended up as a Trap shooter instead, and am sitting on a stupid amount of WC820. Mine was bought in late 2006 and I think it was just about the last batch offered.

I was told to use AA#9 data rather than 110 when I purchased it, and all the lot numbers are the same - HP-PD-LC-102706. Im in the process of getting a chronograph and will verify its burn rate and work up to any suggested loads.

Id like to use it in some pistol calibers and was looking for your favorite WC820 (or AA#9) loads in: .44 Special, .44 Mag, or .45 Colt. All will be shot in Ruger .44 Vaqueros, Black Hawk .45, .44 Flattops (Anniversary and Lipsey).

Thanks - Jim

Jim, the 8# I got from Pat McDonald uses 110 data reduced by 10%. Don't recall the exact loads I used for 44 mag, 357 and 30 carbine, but I generally did exactly that and then at least another 0.5 to 1.0 gr lower to start. Worked great (still does), though I don't have a chronograph (gonna fix that real soon) to check velocities. I did not load it in 45 lc though I'm sure it would do fine in the Rugers where 110/296 is recommended (don't recall it being recommended for the 44 spl).

WC820 was originally used as a GI .30 carbine powder.

As such, it would be much closer to H110/WW296 then anything, although supposedly about 10% faster.

It would require max pressure loads to burn right & be safe I think.

Certainly not a first choice for normal .44 Spc. pressures.

Thanks, I figured the .44 Special may be a bit of a stretch. Though someone might have worked up a Keith style load similar to one using 2400.
