Since I don't shoot alot of 44 mag I generally don't reload for it,but I had given some 220grn rnfp lead bullets.Any suggestions for a pet load.NO MAX loads.I was going to try power pistol in my 40cal so this might be the powder for both.

Alliant (http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/default.aspx)would be a good place to check for PP loads. I like AA #9 & N110 in .44 Mag for full or close to full loads.

220 grain RN-FP seems to indicate you probably have Cowboy Action bullets.

They won't stand up to .44 Mag pressure or velocity.

I think your AA #5 would work just peacy keen.
Can't recommend a charge just right off hand, but Accurate probably can.

If I were trying to get by with one powder in those calibers I'd look at Unique,

If your having trouble finding data, you can use .45 Colt load data in .44 Mag, as long as it's not "+P" or "Ruger/Contender Only" data. Also .44-40 data will work.

Can you scratch the bullets with your thumbnail?

Universal or Power Pistol should do you well if you just have to have one powder.......but ....experimenting is more than half the fun.:)

I load 6 differnt pistol calibers with W231. With a 240 gr. LSWC in 44 mag I use 10.0 grs. Nice easy shooting. I use other powders for specific uses, but W 231 is my favorited "plinking" powder. I load 380 acp, 9mm Luger, 40 S&W, 45 acp, 38 Spl, 357 Mag and 44 mag. with it.

Since I shoot a lot of lead bullets, I don't use full house loads. So I use Ramshot's True Blue for my 38/357, 9mm and 44 mag. I got it when Powder Valley had it on sale and it was a little cheaper than anything else.

Titegroup or Unique seems right up your alley if you wanna standardize. If you wanna go hotter with the .44mag, jump to 2400 for easy magnum loads.
