Really starting to like 1911's

I just got back from the range where I had been shooting my stainless Colt Commander. I have owned this gun for many years and have rarely ever shot it. I had it out a couple of months ago and after shooting it today just fell in love with it. 1911's never quite did it for me before, there was always something else that I preferred, but I feel that I am really going to start getting into the 1911. It was a pure joy to shoot and I've really begun to appreciate the trigger system. Anyway, just thought I'd share my new found enthusiasm for these guns. Best regards, Mike

The 1911 can be a very addicting platform to shoot. It's just a matter of finding the right one  Good to see you've discovered a friend ;)

Yep
1911s with their triggers, ergonomics, and proven load, do that to people.
I are one too.

I fell in love after the first pull of the trigger and then I asked it, "Where have you been all my life!?"

Dear God man, you are worse than me for having some "in the vault" and not appreciating them!:D

Me too but just bought another Beretta instead

(my excuse is that it's discontinued and will be off the California happy list 12/31 so I had to act now)

I bought a Springfield mil-spec in mid October and it is a joy to shoot.

I agree. I bought a SA Mil-Spec last year and it quickly became my favorite pistol. Right out of the box, it has been extraordinarily reliable, accurate and fun. The only mods on it are a couple of Chip McCormick Power Mags and a Pachmeyer finger groove grip.

There's a Colt 1991A1 in my favorite gun store calling my name ..... Santa?

You can add me to this camp also. I just got a S&W1911. First trip to the range was a pure joy. I was much more accurate with the 1911 than I have ever been with my Beretta 92FS 9mm. I've had the Beretta for 5 yrs and still can't shoot it as well as I'd like. I'm gonna keep it though, I'm not selling my guns anymore. I'm looking forward to getting much more familiar with the 1911. She's a keepeer for sure!!

Mr. D. D. Ape I was considering getting the Finger Grove grips but I read they add a lot of girth to the grips-is that really so? any feedback would be heplful and I apologize for the thread hi-jacking .

I had a Sistema for almost a year and didn't see what the big deal was. I couldn't shoot the thing straight if I had to. Then I realized one day that the slide was cracked.

Once I got it fixed, I was hooked. Now I have three 1911s, carry one of them and I'm considering getting another.
