Hopefully to try out my friend's Para 7.45 LDA and HK USP .40, and rent a Ruger .44 wheelgun I've had my eye on. We shall see :)

:( I won't make to the range for a few days...at least! :(
There's a range in SF? Where? I'll bet it's outside the city

There's a range near Lake Merced in the city; members only and I believe limited to .22. The nearest public range is Jackson Arms (http://www.jacksonarms.com/) in South San Francisco. Indoor pistol and shotgun. Nice bunch of guys running the place.

Just got back (from Jackson, btw). Ended up going with a few friends and renting their Springfield 1911 and Ruger Super Redhawk (just for kicks ;) ) and put 150 through the Springfield and 50/50 of 44spl/44mag through the Redhawk. Nice guns both, though the Springfield wasn't as accurate as the Sig P226 I fired last time. Sweet SA trigger though, and less muzzle flip than the P226, though it's a bit of an apples/oranges comparison. After that I drooled over the Paras in the display case for a bit and went home.
Jackson is a great indoor range, if a tad pricey, and convenient since I live right on the border between SF and Daly City. There were 3 bigger guys who became ecstatic when we told them it was a .44 and not a .357. Guess some guys are just impressed by bigger guns ;) :D
