Well, I am glad to have discovered this corner of the net. I do enjoy the postings, and the delightful personalities that must reflect them.

If I am not mistaken, I have shot with at least a couple of the folks on this board, namely Atek and Skunk at a certain ITTS class last August. If you are wondering who I was, don’t take too much time to think about it. I was the only woman…again… (BTW – don’t any of you men have wives and girlfriends who shoot…Oh wait – I’ve read the postings…maybe not…)

Anyway, glad to be here, and I may chime in from time to time.

Take care –

Andrea

Hi, Andrea - welcome aboard! I apologize for Skunk, of course. I'm told he's the kind of guy you take somewhere twice - the second time to apologize! :D

(Don't worry, Skunk - we love you!)

We gotta hear that story

OBTW Habu as in the snake or the Blackbird

The snake tastes real good fried in oil.

Welcome to THR. I wish I could get my wife to join THR. She would find out how nice the people here are. Then maybe I could get her to go with me to the range. Then she would find out how enjoyable shooting is and then I could buy more guns. :) Just using simple logic :)

Hey, pal, I don't know nuthin' about no super fast black airplanes that flew out of Kadena.

Besides, I was just a little kid back then...

As to the culinary value of the habu snake, I'm afraid that I should have asked the family dog. He did a nice job of taking out one of the nasties that had the bad manners to wander into the yard one night. (Go Dog!!!)

Closest I ever came was alligator nuggets in Florida. 'Bit chewy, but OK with ranch dressing and a few beers. (OK, several beers...)

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I was on Oki from June 76 thru June 77. We happened upon a few Habu in jungle training up north and had a #10 can and some cooking oil and we had a little feast... them Super fast little Black birdies would fly landing and take off patterns right over my barracks.

I was stationed in Camp Courtney up near Agena.

OBTW Welcome to a great place.

Yummy! Fried snake.

Don't even get me started about the banana spiders. My juvenile delinquent brother and I used to fire bottle rockets at them and their nasty webs. (10 rockets for 50 yen!!!)

Probably why I got the taste for shooting...

See Moderator, this is a gun discussion!

To make it more Gun

on Okinawa is where I really started to like the M16, cause that is where I got my Expert badge. Also when ever we had a typhoon blow thru we had to go to the Armory and clean all of the M16's, nothing else to do.

Welcome Andrea. Actually my wife loves to shoot with me, and we've been shopping around for her a rifle to take to the range with me. Her very own, personal rifle.

Welcome Andrea. You will be a welcome female addition. If enuf ladies get involved at THR maybe Oleg won't have to yell at us quite as much as you will help bring more civility to the mix. heh.

Andrea, we have shooting with Skunk and Atek in common - but for me it's down here in So Cal at Raahauge's for Steel Madness (http://ssashooter.net) and occasional LESA matches.

If you're in the neighborhood, do come by - there are a dozen or so women I meet at matches down here and always room for more!
