Different AK47 Receiver

I seem to remember that someone was making an AK receiver or lower that had a thumb safety like the AR15/M16 rifle. Can't seem to find the article anymore in my stack of gun rags. Any information would be appreciated.

The Galil rifle has a thumb safety. But it is the most heavily modified AK in the world.

And it's totally dissimilar to that of the AR/M16.
