On this box of ammo? Package address is Bridgeport, CT but no date of manufacture.

The "Rustless" brand was sold from the early 1930's to around 1950. If the box has the DuPont logo on the back, it is from 1934 or later. From the looks of it, I would say it is in the earlier part of the date range.
Are the words Remington or DuPont anywhere on the box?

Yes, DuPont in the oval and it says
PETERS CARTRIDGE DIVISION
REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC
on the back of the box. So at least prior to 1950 or maybe later than that?

I believe having both DuPont and Remington on it dates it to after 1933, but before 1950. Again, considering the condition of the box, I would say it could easily be in the earlier part of that range - 1934 to 1940, but that's just a guess.

Age of ammo > age of dirt

I agree that it is probably pre-WWII, 1934 to 1940.
They didn't make much commercial ammo during the war, and were slow to get it back in the pipeline immediately after the war ended.
