Hi guys. I just got the link to the thread about the center mass article in my google email so I missed it before it was closed. I am not sure why one would talk about criticisms here when you can talk to the author on the article itself. The magazine itself is a discussion board, specifically for that purpose. After interacting here and on several other boards I saw thread after thread criticizing a known expert in the field (removed non-THR comments-Sam), so I figured why not give them a forum to voice their disagreements and of course also compliments. Jim Higginbotham trains FBI and other federal agencies on gunfighting, and has been in many gunfights himself. He is also a student of a lifetime of research, and his articles reflect that. All of our other writers are experts in their fields as well.

(Removed non-THR comments.-- Sam)

The magazine is at magazine.gunsamerica.com and it links into the forum board, for those who didn't follow the other thread.

You may want to re-think the wording of your OP so that it is more an invitation to enlightened discussion rather than a trolling challenge to "duke it out" in person.

Failing that, this thread will have a very short life span.

It's not a question of being a chicken. there are three reasons for this, in no particular order

1. path of least resistance... registering on a new board is more work and time consuming
2. have a discussion here with people you know already. it's easier to evaluate what people are posting when you have a long history of their posts to form an opinion about whether they're knowledgeable or an idiot.
3. discussions on a neutral board are often better. it's probably a bad idea, and futile to boot, to criticize 5.7x28 on FNforums, or glocks on glocktalk, or ARs on m4carbine. obama's not going to do debates on foxnews.

that's not to say your board is a bad place, or that you would engage in the sort of moderating behavior that deletes all posts that don't agree with you and Mr. Higgenbotham, and bans all critics. but there's such a precedent for that behavior on other boards, that people do tend to discuss things on neutral turf. that's one reason THR is so popular: its name isn't reflecting any overt bias
