It will come off with your fingernail......

1. What was it doing in the bathroom?
2. Why was it in the bathroom while being painted? :scrutiny:
3. Why was she painting the bathroom? :neener:

1. That is where I store that particular gun
2. IDK I wasn't home or I would have moved it (maybe)
3. IDK either. Guess she didn't like the color (white)

Rifle in the bathroom. One should never be unarmed in a compromising position.

I would just tell her that you now have to go out and buy another rifle to replace this one with paint on it.(LOL)

MCB, and Bill from NJ I couldn't agree more. Seriously though, I love her to death and wouldn't trade her for a collection of one of every BP arm ever made! She rocks! As far as how I got her to paint? I came home fromwork one day and she andmy 14 year old daughter (who is also a shooter) had half the dang house painted! How cool is that?

Get a little can of Bug & Tar remover from the auto-parts store -- it'll last a lifetime. I don't remember what kind of spirits it is offhand. It'll probably take the paint off wherever it is.

As for the wife? I think she should divorce you! Gun in the bathroom, it gets speckled with paint and you don't know what to do, she's left drafting the kid and painting the house, etc. -- later!!!

I'd suggest buying her a broom handle, so she'll stop using your rifle as an extension for the rollers' handle.

If it's pink paint, then Gordy is definitely correct!

"...That is where I store that particular gun..." Whatever for? You expecting a Buffler stampede or a Griz? Paint comes off steel without a lot of fuss, but store it elsewhere. Geez!

The condensation which has no effect on the mirror surface he wipes it off of after a shower has miraculous effects on every metal part, internal and ex, after everyone's shower!

Sarcam alert! OK I was being sarcastic back there. Sorry. The wife should divorce him and the daughter emancipate herself!

why isnt anyone bringing up the obvious questions

How can you trust the paint job done by a person who isnt smart enough to put drop clothes down before painting?

if they can get half a house painted in a single day, how can you assume they did a proper job?
even the best contractor would hit you up for 3 days work.

Haven't you guys heard of an exhaust fan? I swear there ain't a speck of rust on that rifle. YOU may be amazed what a little oil will do for gun metal. As for the stock, the humidity helps in the winter since the wood stove dries the air so much in the house. THAT is why I store it in the bathroom. Also, it seems like a few of you are shocked that the ladies of the house would be painting? What do yours do? sit on their butt and watch Oprah?
And Nicodemus how can you assume she didn't do a good job?

its like the first time i was taught to tape paper on a drafting board, if you forget a single corner how can you even claim to be using proper technique or care a half hour later when you find out that the paper has been shifting on ya?
