I thought you guys might want to see this. I pulled the barrel off a Saiga-12 and replaced it with a rifled slug barrel, that started life as a Pac-Nor 12ga blank. It was quite a chore to chamber it and cut all the little relief cuts to get it to work. But it runs like a champ. The gun looks like a standard Tromix model S02, but if you look at the barrel pic compared to a standard gun, you can see it's a heavy barrel under the hand guard.

It's got a 16.5" rifled barrel, Tromix limbsaver stock, Tromix charging handle, HK sights, Tromix picatinny rail on the top cover, +2" Tromix shark brake, new Tromix hand guard, and Tromix short reset trigger

Unfortunately, due to the time involved in making the barrel, it won't be a production item.

the fact you mentioned the length of these set me to wondering if a form of permanent attachment between them would void an AOW designation/tax stamp? if that is true, what type of connection is required to be considered "permanent"?

(pinning, soldering, etc)

ATF has a specification for "permanent" that includes the following.

Welding at least 50% around the circumfrence.
Blind pin
Solder that melts no less than 1,000 degrees F.

However, the ATF did approve two small equidistant spot welds on the first RAA guns that were imported with 17" barrels.

thanks for the info. as i feel quite safe in taking your opinion to be fact, the 1,000 F melting point solder has no detriment on the thin parent metal? (as opposed to the muz break which would have the critical bore threads secured beforehand)

any pre/post heat techniques required to prevent shrinkage/deformation?
