I don't know much about either of these guns. Including date of manufacturer or if they are well liked by shooters who are more familar with them than me.

I welcome any info anyone can share that I might not know.
Thanks

First is a Ruger Mk1.

Well, no one else is replying, and I am sure there are many opinions.

The Browning is a recent manufacture Hi-Power. It is probably the best autochucker ever made.

Eh, they're OK. ;)

That Browning's not looking too good. Send it to me, I'll take it off your hands. I'll even pay for postage. :D

Seriously, they should do you fine. I have heard/read, though, that the Mk Is is a bit more picky than the Mk IIs.

The Mk I was made in 1976 i.e. 200th year of American Independence.

Are these two guns any good?

Yep. In fact, they're great guns! That Browning is one of my favorites.

I don't know much about the Mark I, but I know firsthand the Pre-Marks and the recent versions of that same gun are excellent. The barrel on your Ruger looks a little longer than the usual specimen. It may be the target version...

That's a mark 1 target model, best 22 auto pistol on earth. Ok , that's just MY opinion, but thats the pistol I grew up shooting. Add Volquartsen style grips and that thing is a tack driver.

Many a popcan fell to to me as a lad using such a pistol. Because of my love for dad's Mark 1, he bought me a Mark 2 on my 17th birthday.

Your Browning is an excellent pistol. That little "made in Belgium" stamp is akin to saying.. this little honey was hand rubbed by engineers who care. FN's Herstal plant is likely where that was made, that should be a fine fine shooter.

I don't know what your relationship is with these two fine firearms, but I wish they were mine!

The Mk I is a great shooter. I believe the slide lock feature is not the same as the MK II's. Been awhile since I shot one. But they're very sweet. Like mentioned before, it'll need some reliabilty testing done with all ammo but I wouldn't call it unreliable.

The Browning is, well, a Browning.

Nothing wrong with either of the two guns. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

New to the wonderful world of guns? Hard to conceive of anyone not knowing about these two icons of the handgun universe.

...............oh, and they are among the best.

The Browning is a recent manufacture Hi-Power.

Actually, it's a Belgian made pre-MkII, so it's not very recent. In fact, it's probably a 70's or early 80's manufacture. I'd jump on that with both spurs if I found it!

It is probably the best autochucker ever made.

I wholeheartedly agree. :D

Nice guns there. Are they yours, or are they ones that you're considering for purchase?

Some say that the High Power is what John Browning came up with after he de-bug'd the 1911.

All I know is that mine is sweet. Another plus is that it is very concealable.
