There are quite a few. Most major suppressor companies make one for .308. The big thing is if you want one that screws on to the barrel threads or do you want one that mounts to a quick connect mount already on the gun?

Right now the YHM Phantom and the AAC 762SD are 2 of the top ones but Gemtech has a new one on the market. So far people are excited about the new Gemtech.

Just about every suppressor manufacturer makes one for a .308

...just to name a few.

What are you looking to do with it, and how much are you looking to spend?

First, where do you live?

The OP's locations has nothing to do with the fact that .308 suppressors are manufactured by several companies.

If a person lives in AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, ND, NV, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, or WY then they can own a silencer without a license, just pay the $200 tax on the ATF form 1 or 4.

Take a look here; http://www.silencertests.com/links.htm for links to manufacturers and other info. The forums on http://www.subguns.com and http://www.silencertalk.com are other good sources of info, especially for law summaries and making your own silencers. 308 silencers are not nearly as common as those for the 223 remington, but are not rare as silencers go. As long as you are shooting out in the open a suppressed 308 can be safe to shoot without ear plugs even when using supersonic ammo.

I was looking for one also. I am going to look at the YHM Phantom. I was going to suppress my 5.56 but the way it looks, I can get one for my M1A and use on both rifles. I have a local dealer for YHM and he said the biggest wait is getting approved.

I have ran my 308 suppressor (762 sd) on a 223 but it's not as quite as my m4 2000 or m4 1000 and makes the rifle even more muzzle heavy.

In 308 you should give a hard look at the AAC Cyclone if you go with a thread on mount. I like the AAC 762sd for quick detach mounts.
