School me on this Litschert 10x

Any and all help is welcome - I don't want to do anything "stupid" to this scope - optics are clear but three questions -

1. I take it the front of the scope does not rotate for AO like new scopes - at least it does not want to turn and I don't want to force it - yet, it appears there is just a little bit of a line on the scope body that suggests it should rotate?

2. That said - how do you focus? - at 100 yards it was crystal clear - but could not see the crosshairs - at 50 yards it was fuzzy and I never could get it focused on the target -

3. No click on one adjustment - just works smoothly? - I know parts are not out there - but is that something easily fixed or not?

I know, I know - easier to buy something that works - but I like this "old" stuff -

Thanks in advance!

Initial focusing would be done with the rear eyepiece.
The objective should turn too however.
Treads are likely frozen with dried lube.

I would contact these folks for any repairs, or a good cleaning & service to get it up & running.

It is not a job for a DIY project.

Thanks RC -

Not at home - but also read one thread (as I do more web research) that suggested the front bell pulls in and out and does not work on threads - ever hear of such a thing? I never thought of doing that -

Also - the "spot shot attachments" - those threaded on the front of the scope right? - saw an advertisement for one of those -

thanks again - I understand I should not mess this up - !

No, I never heard of that, but I know next to nothing about Litschert scopes either.

They were a lower level target scope when Unertl & Lyman ruled the roost in the 50's & 60's.

Yes, Litschert also made the Spot-Shot attachment for doubling? or at least increasing the power of certain hunting scopes available back then.

Just got home - pulled straight out on the bell - and low and behold - there it is - AO - being new to these I never ever would have thought of doing that - every other scope would rotate - wow.

Okay - now I can get back to the range and I bet that will clear things up!

Not going to fool with the "click" adjustment problem - it works freely and I don't plan on doing any competitive shooting with this scope - it just looks cool sitting on an old winchester 52c...

thanks again RC - and yeah, a book is a good idea!
