The gun has 45 rounds threw it and about several hundred bolt opening and closings to smooth the action.
I decided to wipe some grease off the bolt and noticed the bolt stop sharply angled edge thing that engages the bolt retainer is now peened up and a burr is forming in the shape of that catch.
Sorry for my guessing of terms and names, i don't know bolt actions at all.

Im getting worried a tad so i went and took pics, I think you can see the peened/burred area pretty good in these.

NOOOOO!

I know i worked the action alot but i didn't ape handle it and rip it backwards. It still glides great also. Does this part affect the trigger action?

Anyone else have any info on the possibility of this being bad or normal?
I gotta admit im kinda worried since its a new gun and only 45 rounds threw it.

I would think you guys would have more knowledge of bolt action rifles to know if this is a bad or normal issue.
Just pretend im asking about Nagants with a burred bolt, would that be bad?

same thing happened to both of my Savage 17 hmr's.. Do it @ your own risk.... but i filed that burr down and still work like a charm..

I have this question asked at rimfirecentral also and wasn't getting much info either. But what i have found is its common and it doesn't hurt anything.
No definitive answers yet tho.
Ill be keeping an eye on the burr as if it starts looking loose the file will appear and loose metal is never good.
