Any clues as to what can be done to a Model 10-5 made in 1968, 4" pinned barrel model, single ramped blade up front, gutter rear, to install more easy to acquire sights? OR am I committing sacrilege to alter an old girl like this?

Go ahead and turn it into a PPC gun while you're at it.

Not too much. The rear sight could be opened and deepend little bit, but not too much without weakening the frame.

The only real option is to get a Model 15 or a 19, and if you like fixed sights get one of these for it.

Whiteout the front sight or use not permanent colored paint.
