What exactly would that do for me? Is it worth the extra money?

It will weigh more and thus be more steady and heat up slower during rapid fire.

AR-15 accuracy is mainly related to barrel quality, ammo quality, and if the upper was put together properly.

Does it make it more quiet?

I have the Rock River AR15 with the heavy 20 in. stainless barrel. It's extremely accurate but given the extra weight I wish many times I had the lighter profile barrel. A friend has a Rock River also with the lighter profile barrel and his shoots just as well as mine. Both come with the two stage match trigger which may have a lot to do with how well the Rock Rivers group.

What are the best quality uppers and lowers for the best price?

Lowers won't matter much. Buy which-ever logo you like best. The upper assembly can vary from piss poor to outstanding. Usually, you get what you pay for. If you want an accurate upper, you will pay a little more for it. Do a google search for "AR 15 upper" and you will find more info than you know what to do with.

I was thinking about getting the Del-Ton kit for my upper which runs about $460 I think. Is that a good buy? Heard anything about it? Is it good and reliable?

I have a DPMS panther bull 20. It is very heavy gun. A 24in or 26in would be even heavier.

Bull barrel - stationary shooting, bench shooting, can shoot 10 and 20 shot groups with little deviation.
HBAR - more mobile, very accurate, see Colt HBAR, RRA coyote, Bushmaster Predator
standard barrel - plinking and CQB, 1.5MOA groups
pencil barrel - plinking and CQB, 1.5MOA groups, cheaper than standard barrel

AR-15 accuracy is more a function of barrel quality and build quality than barrel weight.

If I am doing any walking whatsoever, say like 20 mins of walking, will I get tired of caring an AR with a 20" bull barrel?

Maybe, maybe not. Some people will carry an 18# bolt gun, and some want a 7# sporting rifle.
