My EGR (Evil Gray Rifle) grew up today to become an EBR!

I followed the recommendations on HKPro.com and successfully dyed my SL8 black! I'm so impressed with the way it turned out. I used a 5 gallon bucket, and the parts barely fit in, but they DID fit in. Had to bring nearly 5 gallons to almost a boiling point, then add in a bottle of black, dark green and navy blue Rit dye. The mixture is said to avoid a "purple hue" that straight black can give it.

I don't have a digicam, so no pics... sorry. Total cost: $10.

I assume that it was gray parkerizing on there before?

The SL8 has gray plastic stocks and receiver. The plastic parts are what I dyed, the metal parts were already black and were not affected.
