How many of you shooters like to use rangefinders to find out what distance you are shooting? Around here there are no ranges, so we end up shooting at "estimated" distances on farms.

If you do us one, what brand? Price? Suggestions?

Sure, for long range precision shooting.

And a bullet drop sheet print out that was calculated for every 50 yards and printed out recently, to account for pressure, humidity, altitude, and temp.

Usually I just guess though. With enough shooting you get used to where you need to crank your range knob.

Stay away from the Bushnell Sport 450. On deer sized targets it will only range out to about 200. I was able to range houses at about 300, but past that it won't pick up on anything. Save your money for something better. It would be fine for archery though.

Like all optics, you get what you pay for. Go to the manufacturer's website to learn the specifics on what their rangefinder will or will not do as far as ranging different kinds of targets. Typically, most have a shorter range than published when trying to range deer size targets. I like the Leupold RX series with the TBR feature, as they will give the true horizontal distance to the target on steep slopes. That feature may not be as important if you live in the flat lands, but sure is handy here in the Rockies. I realize that other brands offer their version of TBR and work equally well, but I have always been partial to Leupold for their overall quality, and they are made in the USA. No, I do not work for Leupold, but have been able to compare their products with others in 37 years of big game hunting.
