Firearms in ads.

So, I am in the market for some new sunglasses, I checked out different brands and went to the oakley site. The first ad on the home page features surfer Bruce Irons with an over-under shotgun resting on his shoulders. Because of this ad I will most likely get some oakleys, because they seem to be one of the few companies out there willing to put a gun in their ad. I also know they make great products like some military apparrel iirc?

Anyway, are there any other companies who have firearms in their ads? More power to them imho, for not backing down to the medias anti gun stance.

I think the last Remington ad I saw might have had a gun in it... :D

Hi,

i work in advertising. And i make print ad ideas.

IF the gun is part of the idea or function
and adds sense to the intended message ....

then u just need the customer to understand,
and like it.

...... looong way, believe me.

cheers, Mp7.

Well the model of the sunglasses were DISPATCH so I figured they are LEO styled or something.

Btw, gun companies ads don't count lol.

**Anyway, when I got to my desktop, I was able to look into the ad further. I guess Bruce Irons likes to go pig hunting in Hawaii with his 20 gauge so it may have been his or Oakley could just be lying to consumers. I don't care I ordered a pair of sunglasses last night that definitely chipped into my AR fund. But, I guess I need to protect my great vision because I won't shoot so well without it so its an investment.
