Dragon Breath....

I was at a gunshow yesterday and saw some 12 gauge shell called "Dragons Breath". I guess it shoots a blast of fire or something out of the gun. Seems to me that wouldn't be too good for the gun. Any opinions? Tim

It was amusing. Actually, I've been looking for this ammo. Anyone know where it is available?

IIRC and could well be wrong ... sure i have seen five packs (at some exhorbitant price!) in a catalog that ''DeltaForce'' sends out ... they do all sorts of ''specials'' if you have a pocket deep enough!

I've shot some of this type of ammo through several shotguns...
Spectacular fireball, amusing, and expensive. I usually reserve it for my Fourth of July celebration:D It puts on quite a show... be careful where you employ it - I'm fortunate enough to be able to shoot mine over water.
I clean the shotguns soon after the DB, and no issues to date.
Best regards,

I have tried the AZWeapons website. It is up, but not running. Tried calling their phone number and it does not work either. Will check out Delta Force. Thanks.

I want to see these in action...

'Upon impact, this slug mushrooms and expands to nearly 2 inches, stopping the slug from totally penetrating your objective. This rapid expansion forces the dozen of tiny pellets to spread through your objective like a cancerous disease, opening an area at the impact point equal to a softball! The cavity created has the shock effect of 95%! That means only 5% of any living being could survive this kind of hit. 2.75” round

I want to see Delta's copywriter get slapped around the head and shoulders for being the drivilistic moron that he is.

Amen to the last two posters. And a caveat....
Novelty stuff like this is NOT for "Serious" use. It's a lot easier to explain to an unsympathetic court why it was necessary to shoot someone rather than napalm them. And that's just how they'll see it.
Also....
Standard shotgun ammo is incredibly effective at close range. A generic field load at close range wil hit like a giant Glaser Safety slug. Put the lightest load you have through a melon at 5 yards and see hydrostatic shock in action. Then wipe off your glasses.

Isn't this just 00 buckshot??? At nearly 6 bucks each, I think I'll stick with my Winchester Rangers.

The Dragons Breath is pretty much a joke, the photo taken was a time delay or whatever they call it. That way it shows the shot spread out over the entire distance, I have tried it and was left
If you want to spend your money on flash bang stuff, buy some Tannerite! You'll get your monies worth and be left looking like this :what: :D

Actually I have no interest in buying this stuff. I just thought it must be tough on your barrel. Tim

Reactive targets! They work great. Someone a ways back posted a link that'd get you to a site about that .. but ..... do a search .. ''tannerite'', ''reactive targets'' etc .. you should come up with something. Not cheap IIRC but ... FUN!!

www.tannerite.com and here's the direct link for the binary targets http://www.tannerite.com/she_exploding_targets.html and yes they are kinda pricey but you'll be more impressed with it then Dragons Breath.
Grayrock,
A friend that was standing off to the side when I shot the DB said that it just threw stuff everywhere (like in the pic) but not anywhere near the same effect. That's about what I saw as I fired it, the time delay of the pic lets you catch all of the flash and makes it more deceiving/cool then it really is. I guess if you set up a camera to go off as you fired one and had it set up to keep the shutter open a little longer then normal, you'd get the same effect.

I tried the Dragons Breath in daylight. It was a bit dissapointing. It's a suped up sparkler. I was thinking though that for perimeter defense, if you know goblins are coming, you could soak your approaches with flammable liquid and confidently use the Dragons Breath as an igniter.
Someone's been watching too many A-Team reruns, hasn't he?
