The Bushy that followed me home...

So I got home from the gun show yesterday, and I discovered that a Bushmaster XM17 Bullpup (http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/m17s/) had somehow made its way into my truck and snuck home with me. :uhoh:
Now it wants optics. I'm thinking red-dot or holosight. Anyone want to advise me on how to further deplete my bank account?

How about a Trijicon ACOG TA01! Dont see how you could go wrong there.

I really like what I see about the Trijicon ACOGs...but they are a bit spendy. Is there anything out there that's a bit less expensive, but with the money?

Burris SpeedDot might work for you.

You could go:
Aimpoint $300-400 range
Elcan $800
EOTech $250-300
Bushnell Holosight $250.00
These are all very good red dots Elcan is up there in price, if i was going to pay that i would definately go Trijicon. But i just listed it as yet another option you have.

I'd just slap a good Weaver K4 on the darned thing and call it good. You got adoption papers in the works? Check out Kurt's custom work. Makes your gun feel right at home:

Oh, and I change my vote. I think a C-More looks just fine uptop the bullpup. Give us a range report too.

If you want a non-magnified dot optic, go with the EOtech. It's durable, waterproof (for civilian purposes - don't do any deep diving), the 512 and 552 models take AA batteries, and the mount is built in so you don't have to spend extra on that. It also uses a 65 moa ring around a 1 moa dot - it makes it really fast for up-close "social work", while retaining excellent precision.

I put an Aimpoint ML2 on my Bushy. I got it in a package deal with an ARMS extended swan sleeve and the quick disconnect scope ring. Check out the equipment exchange on www.ar15.com The US Army put these things thru hell before they awarded the contract to Aimpoint so you know it'll take a lot of abuse and still work. I like the ACOG's but couldn't put out the $$ for one. A lot of people love the EOtech's also, I have never used one so can't comment. Leupold also makes a red dot sight I believe, haven't read much about it though.

I put a cheapo BSA 50mm dot sight on mine. The small dot works good for both up close speed shooting and 4" group accuracy at 100 yards with Wolf 55 grain hollowpoints no sweat. The differance in bore and sight axis is kinda severe but it does make for comfortable heads up shooting.
I got a 30mm dot sight I'm going to try on it that should drop the dot about 1/2 of an inch closer to the bore and make a little more room in the gun case for it.
Eventually I'd like to move the sight mount down but I don't want to lose the back-up iron sights. If I get a lot of spare cash I'd like to put a ACOG on it with a lower mount.
