A friend of mine has a used wingmaster police with rifle sights I think its a early 80's model is gun worth 230.00? Right now I have a Remington express and was told it is not as good as the police or wingmaster is there any truth to this?

The short answer is YES ,the Police or Wingmaster guns are very well made and generaly thought of as better quality guns than the express models.

$230 would be a decent price assuming it is in good servicable condition.

If it's complete and mechanically sound- certainly it's worth $230. If it's mechanically sound and in good shape as far as exterior finish is concerned, $230 is a STEAL.

Is it a good deal? Well, here's a checklist that's applicable to any $230 Wingmaster:

Has it been used:

--as a cheater bar for loosening the rusted rear main seal bolts on a 1979 Mercury Zephyr
--to spread chicken---- on a field of freshly planted Kentucky ditchweed
--to stir steaming cauldrons of sour mash in a backwoods still
--as a fence post

If the answer is "no" to any of the above it is a good buy.

You did very well.

Here are a few pics can I add a extended mag on this one?

No problem. It's not an Express, so there are no dimples to remove.

If that is the 870 WM police and it is mechanically sound, you did well.

If you still haven't bought it, be a bud and PM me his contact data. I have recently acquired a taste for used 870 WM Police shotguns and could use one in old-school configuration.

I woke up early this morning to pickup shotgun before heading to work and except it being a wingmaster police that he e-mailed pic’s of, it was an express model short version I didn’t buy it. I guess I will keep looking for one. Hella friend :cuss:
