Where can I find a PSL that is most like a genuine Dragunov. The real Dragunovs are so darn expensive and rare. Are there ways to modify the PSL to make it comprable to a Dragunov? I am interested in the 7.62X54mm version. Please provide pics and information if possible. Thank you.

They look similar and thats about it...long stroke AK piston vs the short stroke piston not much you can do to modify it...

Different rifles that appear the same.

As the owner of a few PSLs, they are good rifles for the $500-600 they cost. If you're wanting to spend a few thousand on a rifle there are much better choices than the artificially expensive Dragunov.

Internally, the PSL and the Dragunov are very different. The Dragunov is a short-stroke piston design with an eye towards accuracy, whereas the PSL is a scaled up '47 to take 7,62x54r or 8mm Mauser ammunition.

What are the SVD's? The SVD is the Dragunov Sniper Rifle. Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova (SVD), literally "Dragunov's sniper rifle")

And a link for the AK based PSL too:

A few pics - they are cool rifles.

Here is my personal PSL and here are samples taken from a battlefield in Iraq (a Dragunov type and a PSL type). They are both good rifles. The Dragunov may be better, but is artificially quite expensive due to the import restrictions from the 1990s.
