Hi folks. I am finally going to add a .40 Walther P99 to my collection and want to ask some advice. I can get one NIB with OD green frame and all German proof marks for 499.00 plus some change for shipping. Is this a good price?

Any other general comments about the P99 are welcome!

I'd say thats a pretty decent price. You may find them + or - about 10 bucks.

If I need a reference I usually check gunbroker.com

Its a good gun!

Sounds like a fair price as long as it also includes at least 2 mags, papers, extra back straps & case.

For some reason, they tend to sell $620 or so here in my town. Used is the only time I see them for $500.

If you like the nasty green, sounds good to me.

When I bought mine, my FFL told me that his distributor said all new P99's were $50 more as the wholesale price had gone up.... FFL said I made it just under the wire, and he's not usually one to BS. At the time, gun shows had them for $499-ish, but now I can't find one anywhere for less than $549.

I liked mine so much, I bought a second one (in 9mm) for the wife... I have since learned that, since the P99 is only a range gun for me, I like the 9mm better :) .

$499 sounds like a pretty good deal, they go for about $600-650 here in MD.
