Anyone build a 1911 slide holding jig?

I know I can buy the Yavapai slide jig from Brownell's for a c-note, but I'll be darned if c-notes aren't getting scarce after all this tooling I've been purchasing lately. :)

I don't know of any others and if there was, I'm not sure that they would be as good. I don't think the Yavapai can be beat.

I've got something in mind like the Yavapai, but with an extra part that would thread into the front part of the jig and extend part the barrel bushing. Seems like it would add a bit or rigidity. Never having used the Yavapai, I'm not sure if it really needs any additional support for the front of the slide or not.
