Oro April 8, 2010, 06:51 PM It probably is, but there are a few variations of the gun. If it's a blue (29) 4", I think that makes it a "Heritage" model they made in 2009-2009. Should be square butt and with replica target grips (or maybe they were magnas) and in a blue plastic case. I would say $800 is a fair price. Older original ones can often be found for less than that, but not new in the box and with a lifetime warranty. Technically the lifetime warranty applies to the new owner on guns purchased after 1988 or so; however S&W does not appear to be rigorous about enforcing that "1st owner" issue. There are also "Lew Horton" limited editions in 3" and with Magna grips that can be easily mistaken for a 4" gun if not measured. Walkalong April 8, 2010, 07:04 PM Not to me. Mr.Revolverguy April 8, 2010, 08:48 PM I agree with Walkalong, I saw one today for $789 new but it was a 6inch. 351 WINCHESTER April 8, 2010, 08:52 PM Don't the new ones have mim parts? If so I would much rather have an older one with a 6 1/2" bbl. Gunfighter123 April 8, 2010, 09:37 PM Sounds overpriced for a used #29 to me. harmonic April 8, 2010, 10:14 PM I just checked Gunbroker>revolvers>29-10 and they've got an engraved one for $750 starting bid. No bids. Another one w/6 1/2 inch barrel starting bid for $879. No bids. Another one, 50th anniversary w/6.5 inch barrel starting at $800. No bids. I'd say the seller is pretty much at peak price for this one. 22-rimfire April 8, 2010, 10:44 PM I'd say that is a pretty stiff price on a used Model 29 in 95% condition. I'd pass. BigBore April 8, 2010, 11:05 PM No way would I pay 800.00 for a -10 in any S&W..Now if it was a -1 with that price tag I would run over people with an Abrams tank to get to it first..:D :neener: Sniper X April 9, 2010, 12:43 PM Thanks for the advise fellas. Ill let it sit and see if it comes down. sw282 April 9, 2010, 08:40 PM 29-2 YES. 29-10 noway EVER 29-10s have MIM parts and POS locks. Ugly grips. 3 strikes is an out Action_Can_Do April 9, 2010, 11:24 PM The current Model 29 is probably the strongest and most accurate ever made. I got mine for $800 about 3 years ago. It's a wonderful gun, but that does seem high for a used gun that isn't near mint.
