Hopefully this is the correct forum to introduce myself as a new member. If not please accept my apologies. My name is David Schultz and I am a Detention Deputy for a Florida Sheriff's Office. I am also an FDLE certified High Liability Instructor in firearms, D.T., edged and chemical weapons etc. I teach Police, Corrections, Probation and Parole and E.O.T. academies at S.E.P.S.I. at St. Petersburg College. I've been on the job for almost 13 years with 8 years in the Air Force.

I also teach a Martial Discipline named American Realistic Karate/CQDT to off duty officers and Coast Guard officers and a few select private citizens. I am a registered member of the World Il-do-kwan Federation and Chairman of the International League of Martial Arists.

I am the Administrator on a Martial Arts Discussion Board and a Christian Discussion Board [links are in my signature line]. One of the members of my board told me about this board.

I carry a Beretta 92 9mm on duty [issued] with 124+P Gold Dots. Off duty I carry either a Glock 19 9mm with the same ammunition or a Glock 30 .45 with 200+P Gold Dots. My preference runs towards the Glock.

I am an NRA Member.

I like long walks on the beach and classical music.....ummm thats probably TO MUCH of an introduction :D This seems to be a very nice site. Looking forward to learning from everyone and meeting some new folks.

Thanks :)

Welcome aboard! You're in good company - lots of Florida members here. Perhaps you can use your good offices to organize a Florida THR shoot at one of your ranges?

David, yeah, chixing tang lang kuen is a hint, but what about the website?:D

This is like a parody of a Jeff Foxworthy joke, "you may be into martial arts a little too much, if . . . . you identify people by the styles of boxing they practice." :D

I am also a Corrections Officer, here in AZ, at one of our supermax lockdown units. Fun job, but nobody knows we are doing it until someone screws up...Issue sidearm is Glock 19/17, depending one who's in the armory. Off duty is Tanfolgio/Witness EA40, yes, officially approved. :)

Welcome to the site!! You'll ruin our image with that classical music stuff-everybody knows us gun nuts don't listen to nuthin' but country. If the liberal media gets a hold of this it'll be reported as another example of those dishonest NRA types. Clearly this is the gun lobby trying to clean up their image. Next thing ya' know we'll be tellin' people we don't make moonshine and hide from them revenooers. And that long walk on the beach stuff-come on-us gun nuts only go to the red-neck riviera to fish, drink and cheat on our spouses. Seriously-hope you will continue to contribute-and if you stir up something controversial I hope you have thick skin-Oh-one more very important warning-Oleg's got a camera and he knows how to use it!

You may or may not know of "The Firing Line", predecessor to THR; most of the hardcore members are here at THR. While you can't post there, TFL is available for a read and is a great source of info. Find it at

Again, welcome aboard and let's "hear" your fingertips. :)
