You're really gonna want to check out Lage Mfg. http://www.max-11.com/

He's simply got THE stuff for MACs. Talk about turning a sow's ear into a silk purse! Made with 100% pure awesome! :D

Oddly enough, UZITalk.com is probably the best MAC discussion forum.

Thanks, Sam1911.
Now I am wanting even more toys I have no practical use for; another one added to my list.

The Lage is definitely what you want in a MAC.

Will the Lage uppers function on post '86 closed bolt guns?

No, the Lage works only with full autos.

I shake my fists in anger!!!

lol

There for a second I thought we had a viable alternative to the 9mm AR...

We do, HK clones, Uzi clones, and MPA30s. I think a few people might also make 9mm AKs... I remember reading a thread on how to build one once.

Would it work with a semi, open bolt gun?
No. So far as I know, he will only sell to people with a registered MG.

Any open bolt (FA of course) MAC 11 in .380. Fastest 32 ronds you will ever shoot! But it also runs through your wallet real fast after all the ammo...

I think the powder springs guns are quality. Those Lage uppers look like a lot of fun and reasonably priced (in the NFA realm nothing in cheap).

Hahaha, he's not limiting his market at ALL. He's backordered months and month, and the kits are NOT cheap. ;)

Open Bolt MACs or any open bolt fire arms are considered machine guns because of how easy they are to convert to full auto.

Wrong. Semi open bolt guns made before the ATF ruling in the early 80s are grandfathered and perfectly kosher.

Only so many of those MACs in existence

There are plenty of MAC's in existence , the Cobray's were a very cheap way to get into a full auto , though they run fast and break often ( though repair parts are pretty inexpensive ).

The guys who use their F/A's are certainly not worried about dropping the $$$ for a LAGE kit , quite a few of our local subgunners have them.

and some don't , this MAC runs fast , but he is very accurate with it.

Has he actually come out with the production .22 conversion? I'm on the waiting list and have been for a year...

From the looks of his site no not yet. I'm glad I just got interested in it now and not in 2005 when development started.

EDIT: Forgot which subforum I'm in, the following post referrs to a Semi-auto modern-manufacturer

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Masterpiece Arms.

I've heard quite a few good things about them.

Pistol and Carbine lengths, multiple calibers, top or side cockers, plenty of "tacticool" ability with factory rails etc.

I've wanted one of the carbines for quite a while, just never got the budget to buy one.

Reason nobody mentioned it is the MPA guns aren't NFA weapons.
