Are the Hornady Match as good as Sierra's Match King? Specifically the .308 168 grain BTHP.

I bought one thousand 168 Hornady match bullets from Pat's Reloading on Commerical row at Camp Perry.

They shot fine. All the way out to 300 yards, further back from that I use 175's or 190's in my 308's.

I shot HM scores and cleans with the things. Any shots outside the ten ring were due to me, not the bullets.

After I shot that 1000 up, I bought more from Pat's at the next Camp Perry.

I have also used thousands of 168 Nosler Match. They are an excellent bullet.

I buy by price since I can't really tell a difference.

Sierra bullets have always been outstanding, I have shot thousands of older, 70ish bullets, and if I got a deal on Sierra's, no matter what the age, I would hop on them too.

It is just that I won't pay the difference on modern bullets.

I agree 100% with SlamFire1. I have used all three manufacturers bullets in my NM M1A and see no difference out to 300 yds. I buy on bulk price also. :)

i buy on what shoots best in my rifle, and in my long range 308 the 168 a-max does very well out to 1000 yards.
