I have the data that came with the Lee dies, and I've checked EVERY thread at surplusrifles and a few other Steyr M95 places, but I can't find any data for the bullets/powders I have.

I have prvi partizan 208gr BTFMJ bullets. The only rifle powders I have are varget, win760, reloader 22 and reloader 19. I also have some 2400, red dot, and trail boss as well.

About the only loads I could find posted anywhere that someone has tried with heavy bullets and the powders I have is 46.0gr or reloader 22 with a 225gr bullet (don't know if that's lead or jacketed), and 13.5gr of red dot with a 205gr bullet (don't know if that's lead or jacketed either).

8x56r is a pretty big case, and I read on here not too long ago about someone using red dot or another pistol powder for a reduced charge, and all the powder had settled wrong or something and caused some kind of drama (can't remember for sure what the problem was), so I don't want to risk that. I don't have any of the stuff you use for filling cases to keep the powder where it's suppose to be either.

Do you think 46.0gr of reloader 22 would be alright? Anyone here have have any success with 8x56r and the powders I listed?

I'd really like to try some trail boss too, but I think that's mainly used for jacketed bullets, but I'm not sure. Surplusrifle.com has an article were they use 9.0gr of trail boss in several .30 cal milsurps with decent results, but they're using lead bullets.

With the cost and availability of powder where I live, it might be awhile before I can find any of the powders listed by Lee, and I'd prefer to shoot this gun again sometime this century. (I can't afford to keep buying a bunch of different kinds of powders either).

from Connelly's "Cartridge Conversion" 205 g jacketed bullet with 45 gr IMR 3031. The Red Dot load sounds like it's a lead bullet. For a case filler you can try toilet paper or go to a fabric shop and get some kapok that's used to make pillows. A small amount stuffed on top of the powder should keep the powder at the bottom of the case.

Here's some data from postings at the surplusrifle forum. Evaluate and use at your own risk. Original factory ammo is quite stout, most loads listed will not approach factory velocities. The Varget load might be a good one for you, seeing it's in stock.
