Anyone know anything about the gun (other than the specs, etc.)?
Thanks

Depends who you ask.
Some of what I've heard:
Not easy to clear a jam because of the "tilt barrel"
great pocket gun
too big for the bang and the buck, lousy pocket gun
32 caliber,,,,,blah blah.....
shoots lousy
I have a friend who has had one for years, I've NEVER seen him shoot it at the range, but it's always there.
One shop i go to DOES NOT carry it, slides crack. I think this was true of the earlier models.
I like the look, like a mini 92 FS, sexy.
I was going to get one about a year ago, but went with a Glock 26 (9mm) instead.
take care

I had one, and liked it. I had no failures or breakage, and it seemed to fire any ammunition I fed it, I did not fire it a lot, maybe 400 rounds. I found a buyer for mine for almost new price when I decided to sell it, after four years.
The reason I sold it was because I found the keltec .32 and it was a lot thinner and lighter. The keltec is now made in .380 at the same size as the .32, and if you are shopping for a tiny concealment piece I would suggest looking them both over.
The biggest advantage of the Tomcat is the tilting barrel, the slide never has to be retracted in loading so it is great for elderly or people with weak hand problems.:)

Hi Bobkra,
I tried the P32, but I'm a big guy and my fingers won't fit into the trigger guard without compressing the trigger. NO NO. Tried the Bobcat and liked it. No failures, ever, and the tip up barrel makes it easy for my wife to load.
My only gripes are (1) the diamond patterned grip hurt my wife's hand and (2) I got the tritium sights and am not as accurate with the night sight. It still groups 4 to 5 inches at 7 yards.
It conceals easily, IWB, ankle pocket, coat pocket.
Be well,

I like the Tomcat. Nice little gun & well made for its intended mission. My only complaint is the trigger pull on it. I think that if I had the practice time on it, I would learn to accept it & be more proficient w/ it.

I've had two. I had about 1200 rnds thru the first when I managed to split the slide when Corbon's +P .32 first came out. It was an early production model, Beretta replaced it, no questions asked. It took about 200 rounds to 'break it in', had a few FTFs and stove pipes during that period, but it was otherwise quite reliable with ball, Silvertips, Federal, and Gold Dots, it didn't like Fiocchi JHPs.
The second one has been fine, didn't need any break-in, and prefers the same diet as the first. Both like to be kept clean, as they will start acting up (FTFs and stove pipes) after 100-150 without cleaning, and a pocket holster is a good idea, if you're going to carry that way. Both were pretty accurate for short snorts, a dab of white paint on the front sight is a good idea. The only caveat I have is beware of slide bites if you larger than average hands.
All in all, I like my little Italian kitty, I carry it when I just want a little something for a quick run to the grocery or ATM and don't feel like getting "dressed". It is a little thick and heavy vs a Keltec, but I like the heft, and I put a set of Ajax black silverwood grips on (big improvement over OEM) which indexes better for me and helps avoid them 'RR tracks'. HTH.

The Beretta really peaks my interest as a summertime "pocket carry" pistol. If I didn't have an AMT .380 that actually works I'd probably go get a Beretta. But my AMT is stone cold reliable (go figure!) so I'll probably pass.

I've owned a couple of Tomcats and now own an Alleycat (Tomcat w/tritium front sight). They've been my deep CCW for years now, carried in the hip pocket opposite my wallet in a DeSantis "Trickster" holster. Mine have been accurate and reliable and have shown a preference for Silvertip ammo. I've heard that they aren't designed for heavy use but I haven't had any problems w/mine (a cop friend had the slide crack on his). No, it's not as powerful as my .45 but it's *always* with me when I step out the door, regardless of what else I may or may not be carrying. Better a .32 that's always with me than a .45 still at home when I need it. Now, if they could only make the Tomcat in 9mm!...

I got an early one from one of the gun magazines that wanted me to write it up. Shot it with all the jhps that were out then and a ball load or two.
I got one malfunction each from the first four magazines and none thereafter- over several hundred rounds. This may be unusual since several shooters reported breakages after a few hundred rounds. One factory dude said the tomcat was a " 900 round platform" made to be shot little and carried much. This was quickly denied .
I found it accurate and easy to shoot. - Others found that their finger would stop against the frame prior to trigger release and had to adjust finger placement. One local guy shot several thousand rounds through his - factory and reloads. No problems at all until toward the end of the round count when it started to jam. We guessed it was probably the magazine.
With the exception of the Corbon load which will break 1000fps, the jhp loads are less energetic than ball loads. Velocities run in the low 800 fps range.
It may not be as compact as you can go with a .32 but it is small enough for most pocket gun purposes and does has the advantage of accepting ball ammunition.

I've heard that it's actually heavier than the stainless model. (odd) But, to me, it sure is nice looking.
Hey! Has anyone heard anything negative about the Ti model?
