Ok, some of you have read about my Legacy Escort 12ga 18in-barrel. I rather like the fit of the gun, but shot it improperly last time (after 3 rounds of pinching my inner-arm:eek: , I decided that it was time to stop).

This time was much better, as I paid attention this time and found my shoulder's sweet spot. Shot the same ole' #8 Federal Val-pak. It is so satisfying to know that anything within 10yds belongs to ME (I know, 10yds? One thing at a time...) After a dozen or so rounds (and running out of AOHell disks  and bad CD-R's), I decided to see how it patterned. Note to all of you with scrap stuff around: DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT use the fiberglass air-dam off of the top of a semi to shoot at with small shot. It hurts when it hits you in the stomach and ear lobe. It also drives home the point of wearing safety-glasses.:o

Anyway, at 9-10yds my 00buck FedPrem 2.75 patterns at around 3-4 inches out of a straight barrel (cylinder bore?). Is that good or bad?

After the 13rds of val-pak and the 2rds of buck, my shoulder said enough. I also had to go chop up wood afterwards, so its good that I stopped when I did.

Anyway, I just wanted to post a good report for anyone who wants to buy a Legacy Escort shotgun. I only had one failure to eject, and that was because I racked the slide too slowly.

Have a good one,

I sure hope you picked up after yourself when you were done.

I find refrigerator boxes to be excellent patterning stands. they're easy to clean up, too.

I try to clean up after myself. I was mounting all the targets on the branches in the burn pile. We have a large number of trees that were bulldozed down to clear some space and for the pond, and we have a brush pile about 8ft tall now. Bonfire anyone?:D

Hi, thanks for the report. I bought my Escort Legacy 18" a couple of weeks or so ago and have YET to shoot it! Fit and finish appear to be very good and that slide was slick for a scattergun I paid only $160 (NIB) for at the gunshow.

I'll never use the pistol grip I bet.

Thanks for the report. I suggest working on your form and fit, that small amount of shooting shouldn't have left you sore.
