I assume its bad manners to take pot shots into the woods every time something moves. That is an extremely unpleasent way to learn rule #4.

I assume its bad manners to take pot shots into the woods every time something moves. Very bad manners indeed.

Note that under some circumstances, it may in fact draw return fire. :what:

What's wrong with these people?!? I thought we wanted to check Rack and spread before we shot. Must not be the way it works there. I am just plain dumbfounded. Was there any illegal substance involved? I just can't picture stupidity this bad as naturally existing.

Every hunt season somebody(s) get killed "by accident". There are (99%) NO accidents, ony NDs.

We had one reported here in VA yesterday. Another deal where one or more of the four rules were ignored... in this case Rules 2,3 & 4.

Wasted lives - one dead, one living with it.

I remember seeing a newspaper article several years ago about a "hunter" in Colorado who shot a horse he thought was an elk. Problem was, a man was riding the horse when it was shot.
Human intelligence is finite and limited. Human stupidity knows no boundries.

Well, here in MI, there are laws about what you're supposed to wear and last I knew, deer weren't safety orange.

Idiots! Plus there are different licenses for deer and antlerless. Unless you've got both tags you can't play the "brown it's down" game.

This was no accident, only negligence at a high level.

Yep-another opportunity for the media to show what buffoons some of us are-and in this case they would be right. So should this guy and his buddies be allowed to continue owning firearms? What the heck-thought I'd open up this can of worms for some nice, civil, fact-filled unemotional debate.

An old State Trooper back in Kentucky told me a tale from when he was a rookie.

Early on Saturday morning he came across tire tracks leading off the road into a clearing close to a popular deer hunting spot. Thinking he probaly knew the hunters he thought he'd see how lucky they had gotten.

What he found was a Rambler station wagon and two men, who had, infact, been out hunting deer although slightly intoxicated. They did have the appropriate doe license but they had killed a neighboring farmer's wandering heifer.

When he pulled off into the clearing the two men, had a rope over a large tree brance and were trying, without success, to hoist it up so they could field dress it.

As my Daddy used to say, "Some people's children..."
