This guy might be something less than bright bulb, however law authorizing arming of airline pilots has been enacted, and signed. Seems as if the bureaucrsats haven't done the job they are hired to do, and are supposed to do. Is there anything much new with this, I doubt it, however should this pilot be hung out to dry, in my opinion, NO.
By the way, his problem, as I understand the thing, seems to be with The Sullivan Law essentially. Now then if the relevant "federal regulations" had been issued, why haven't they been issued, and this guy had undergone the stipulated "training", would he, and other pilots, still have a problem with local legislation, Sullivan Law in New York State, or would they somehow be "covered".
Another thing to think about, is or might be, the following. It is quite possible, perhaps likely, that a whole bunch of law abiding Americans are getting just a mite tired, not to say annoyed, with some or a lot of the current "government foolishness". If "they" go to trial, and just one of the above mentioned happen to sit on the trial jury, what might happen if they take it upon themselves to tell the government where to get off, by voting NOT GUILTY, as might have happened with the DeLorian case, which some readers might recall. Is that called Jury Nullification?
