I have a stamped WASR AK47 with a 6 position collapsible stock. I want to put a single point sling on it but I'm having trouble finding one. Any suggestions?

Go for an adjustable two point sling like the Vickers or VCAS, your knees and nuts will thank you if you ever really get dynamic with the rifle.

That said, the only single point I've ever owned (besides improvised ones from tubular nylon) is one of the SOE Gear ones. It's got some nice features (elastic/bungie for a little give, quick disconnect), but I think various other similar designs have the same.

Haven't played with the new Magpul sling, but it would be another good one to look at. I'm certain someone who has some hands on with one will be somewhere here on the board to comment on its pluses and minuses.

I like these; there are more comfortable ones out there, made with silk and stuff, but these are hardy, and the price is very right.

Thank you. It's nice to hear someone else say it and know that I am not alone.

I prefer a 2-Point Quick Adjust too, but there are plenty of various types of single point sling out there.

Those look like great options but the stock I have on my rifle does not have a sling mount near the receiver. Just the front end and the rear of the butt-stock, any suggestions?

Regular, black GI sling.
It'll do the trick, both holding the rifle and letting you transition. KISS. I've used them for years, all over the world, and after trying all kinds of other slings, returned to the tried and true.

I used the regular black sling and now I would like to upgrade!

Go for it. I've spent hundreds and been issued hundreds of dollars worth of slings. The basic has worked best for me. YMMV.

Yeah, unless you are able to install a sling mount near the rear of the receiver, you will not be able to use any single point slings properly. The 2-Point Quick Adjust slings out there are much better options anyways and will usually give you all of the advantages of a single point with none of the downsides.

Since you already have the six-position CAR stock it is really simple. My WASR came with the simple green canvus/nylon two-position sling. I just clipped the two ends together around a section of p-sord or webbing looped through the sling slot in the stock. It is ghetto, but it works. Total cost $0.
