So,
Lying in bed the other day wondering if a semi-auto would ever benefit from bolt face truing? I mean, it works for bolt-action why not semi? If anyone with *experience* on the matter would throw in their .02 I would greatly appreciate it.

Most modern autoloaders feature a "floating bolt head" what this means is the actual locking portion of the bolt isn't rigidly attached to the rest of the bolt. Allowing the bolt head to "true" itself apoun chambering.
On a side note this is one of the major reasons the savage 10/110 action is quickly becoming the rem700 for the 21'st century.
