Are these Gas Piston Retrofit Conversion Kit any good? I have a Bushmaster heavy barrel AR and am on a budget so I don't have a lot of $$ to spend but would like to convert to the gas piston. Will it work and is it worth the money?

Is your Bushmaster not working right now? If I was on a budget and had a perfectly good working AR, I am not sure I would spend the money to convert it to a system with marginally better performance.

I don't have a lot of $$ Then why buy something that is unnecessary and not battle proven? Not to mention an aftermarket kit for a gun not designed for a piston operating system could damage your lower from carrier tilt. K.I.S.S.

Research this at least a month before plunking down your cash. If you still want to do it, well it's your rifle not ours. I'm not a fan of piston conversions either and there are better things to use the money for - ammo for one!

Why would you wnt to spend money on something that makes your Bushy worse?

My overall opinion of piston AR's:
less accuracy
more cost
some take longer to clean! (I thought this was supposed to get better)
less reliable (why, how did that happen?)

The solution in search of a problem, created the problem it was supposed to fix!
